The color when brewed is a beautiful deep green, yet the taste is smooth and not astringent. This is the characteristic of Japanese tea that is "rich and smooth," known as "Koimaro Tea." To offer a more delicious and easily enjoyable Japanese tea, we first conducted a survey to understand our customers' ideal Japanese tea preferences.

The results revealed that 75% of respondents desired "a deep green color for Japanese tea" and 71% preferred "a rich and smooth flavor." The ideal Japanese tea that our customers were seeking was "rich and smooth." Thus, the development of "Koimaro Tea" began. However, we faced the challenge that deepening the color of the tea would make the taste astringent, while creating a smooth flavor would result in a lighter color. After three years of trial and error, we finally arrived at the ideal Japanese tea that embodies a "deep color and smooth flavor."

We use 100% first-grade tea leaves. Our blend includes highly aromatic young steamed sencha, robust deep steamed sencha with rich flavor and color, and gyokuro, known for its umami and profound depth. By skillfully harmonizing these three distinctive flavors and expertly blending high-quality Uji matcha, we are able to enhance the qualities of the ingredients, achieving a refined mouthfeel and vibrant green color. This is truly the ideal taste of "rich without being astringent, and smooth."
