Triceratops was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 68–66 million years ago. It is famous for its three facial horns and large frill, which provided protection and may have been used for combat or display. Adults could reach 8–9 meters in length and weigh up to 12 tons. Young Triceratops were smaller, with shorter horns and a less developed frill, giving them a more juvenile and charming appearance compared to adults.
