The color when brewed is a beautiful deep green, yet the taste is not bitter but smooth. This is the characteristic of "rich and mellow" Japanese tea, "Koimaro-cha". With the desire to drink Japanese tea more deliciously and easily, we first conducted a survey on the ideal Japanese tea for customers.
As a result, 75% of customers said "the color of Japanese tea is a deep green" and 71% said "the taste of Japanese tea is rich and mellow"! The ideal Japanese tea that customers are looking for is "rich and mellow". And so, the development of "Koimaro-cha" began. However, it took three years of trial and error to achieve the ideal Japanese tea that customers were looking for, with the color being dark and the taste being mellow.
We use only first-class tea leaves. We blend the fragrant young steamed green tea, the rich taste and deep color of deep-steamed green tea, and the flavorful and deep umami of Gyokuro, in such a way as to bring out the goodness of each, and exquisitely blend them with high-quality Uji matcha. This realizes the exquisite mouthfeel and bright green color, while bringing out the goodness of the ingredients. Truly, it is the ideal taste of "rich and mellow, despite being strong".
