A slightly different adventure for Mario and friends. The classic game "Super Mario RPG," originally released on the Super Famicom 27 years ago, is making a comeback with updated graphics on the Nintendo Switch.
**Story**
Mario heads to Bowser's Castle to rescue the kidnapped Princess Peach. Just when he thinks he has defeated Bowser and can relax, a giant sword suddenly falls from the sky. The sword pierces Bowser's Castle, and the shockwave sends Mario flying, prompting him to continue his search for Peach. Along the way, he learns that the sword has shattered the "Star Road," which granted people's wishes, scattering its fragments, known as "Star Pieces," across the world. Together with strong allies he meets on his journey, Mario embarks on an adventure to collect the Star Pieces and restore a peaceful world where wishes can come true.
**Adventure through Fields Using Jumps**
Utilizing Mario's signature "Jump" action, players will solve puzzles while exploring various fields and dungeons.
**Companions Who Adventure with Mario**
Mario receives help from "Mallow," a self-proclaimed frog with a fluffy body, and "Geno," a celestial messenger who visits the Mario world to retrieve the Star Pieces. Of course, Bowser and Peach, familiar faces from the Mario series, also join the adventure.
**Action Command Battles**
Engage in "Action Command Battles" where players time their actions for attacking and defending. During battles with monsters, successfully performing an Action Command can deal damage to the entire enemy group or even reduce incoming damage to zero. In this game, if players successfully execute Action Commands in succession, it triggers a "Chain" that enhances their allies' abilities, making battles more advantageous. For newcomers, a supportive "!" marker will appear to assist with timing. Furthermore, every successful Action Command fills a gauge, and when this gauge reaches 100%, the three characters in battle can combine their powers to unleash a special "Three-Person Technique."
**Additional Features**
After the ending, players can take on some of the bosses they encountered throughout their journey in rematches. These bosses will be significantly more powerful than before. Additionally, features like the "Monster List," which records various information by battling monsters, and the "Sound Player," which allows players to listen to the music from both the Super Famicom and Nintendo Switch versions at any time, have been added (the Sound Player becomes available after the ending). For those new to battles and RPGs, a "Enjoy" difficulty setting has been introduced, along with support features for the adventure, making the game more accessible for everyone.
