Alter’s Hojicha used medium roasted hojicha that we meticulously handpick to ensure its compatibility with our plant based protein. Picking the right roast level is crucial for hojicha as stronger roast tends to result in burnt smoky aftertaste. Hence, our medium roasted hojicha still retained its original tea leaves aroma, while exuded a warm, cozy, nutty and slight caramel flavor. Our hojicha also offers less bitterness due to its roast level, while containing low caffeine and easy on the digestive system.
