Bulk Matcha (Domestic) 500g

The raw tea leaves for the matcha are made from 100% Shizuoka Prefecture-grown tencha. This tea is made by blocking sunlight during the period of new shoots, which preserves the umami components and amino acids.

You can use it mixed with soy milk, cow's milk, for making sweets, as a dipping salt for tempura, in cocktails, or as a topping for ice cream.

For a green tea cocktail, the mixing liquid can be made with less than 1/4 of the ingredients. For example, if a 2-liter pet bottle costs 200 yen, it will be about 20 yen per cup plus the cost of shochu. For commercial use, you would use 6g of matcha per 2 liters, which comes to about 4 yen per cup plus the cost of shochu.

To prepare, take a plastic bottle for 1-2 liters of barley tea, add 200cc of water and an appropriate amount of matcha, close the lid and shake well. Once the matcha lumps dissolve, fill the bottle with water up to the top to complete the drink. The recommended amount of matcha is about 3g, which is roughly 2 heaping teaspoons per liter.
