Growth habit
1. Temperature
Peppermint has a strong ability to adapt to temperature, its rhizomes persist through the winter, and can withstand -15℃ low temperature. The optimum temperature for its growth is 25℃-30℃. The growth is slow when the temperature is lower than 15℃, and the growth is faster when the temperature is higher than 20℃. At 20℃-30℃, as long as the water and fertilizer are suitable, the higher the temperature, the faster the growth. Mint is a long-day plant, which likes sunlight.
2. Sunlight
Peppermint is a long-day plant, which likes sunshine. Long sunshine can promote the flowering of peppermint and facilitate the accumulation of peppermint oil and menthol.
3. Soil
Mint does not have very strict requirements on the soil. Except for soils that are too sandy, too viscous, too acid-base, and low-lying with poor drainage, general soil can be planted, sandy loam and alluvial soil are better. The pH value of soil is 6-7.5.
